Viana...... no surname noted. Yet she was there back then, I suppose she must have some sense of skill.
Rieze ran her eyes across the little "note" she had gathered on the archer. Her relationship with the army was as a matter of fact strictly buisness, but with the current situation, getting to know the retainers her sister had was a prefferable outcome.
The snake-like wyvern at her back nibbled after her hand, interested in what was in it. Rieze, knowing her own mount knew what he wanted, but in all reality she had gotten what she wanted.
So she threw the paper up, the wyvern catching it in its mouth. At the lack of a discernable taste, its excitement ebbed out, clearly not a fan of the experience.
"Geez. You wanted it. I didn't want to give it to you, but you would just have taken it anyways."
A short snarl was all the answer she got.
"Heh.... Fiiine."
She tossed him a small piece of meat, a roasted animal she had bought from one of the countless shops in the area. As he ate it, she left him, refreshing her memory on the port town's hot spots.
Hotel.... maybe. Outside somewhere? A plaza, perhaps? Or maybe... ugh no. Not the beach. I'd rather head there later.... A plaza suffices for now, I think.
She left the stable, heading for the closest plaza, close to the docks.

Viana was skipping about in the plaza randomly, as she does quite frequently. She notices the familiar face of that one ally lady that goes around on that cool flying snake thingy, and her face lit up as she changed her direction of skipping toward her. She seemed like someone she might've met before she had joined this army, but she was mistaken about a lot of things, so she shrugged it off.
"Hiya, snake ladyyy~! Sorry if I haven't formally introduced myself to you yet. I haven't really done that to a lot of the people here... I kinda sleep a lot... and get tied up eating sweets... b-but I can tell you're all lovely people! I'm glad to be here!"
She smiled like the purple goofball she is until she remembered something she forgot
"Oh, Mouna! Sorry, I do that a lot..."
she reaches out her hand
"I'm Viana, violet-haired archer and protector of those dear to me! Nice to meetcha snake lady! So uh... what's your name?"

"Ah."
Rieze stepped back a bit, slightly put off by the suprise social onslaught from the archer.
"Uhm. Excuse me. My name is Rieze Silverwing. I was about to seek you out, regarding your connections to my sister. The Countess."
She crossed her arms, the steel clanging a bit as the pieces of her outfit clashed together.
"A soldier, there during the massacre at Amarana, am I correct?"

"Yeah, I was there. I honestly cried a lot. But everything's okay now that I know Delphine's alright. That's makes me happy enough. And it makes me even happier knowing I grow stronger every day so I can protect her."
If confidence could be a color, it would be as purple as the archer's flowing hair and twinkling eyes.
"Also, I love your name! It's really pretty. Funny enough that both our names have to do with colors, huh?"
She let out a goofy laugh and placed out her hand once more.
"Nice to finally meetcha, Rieze!"

"Ahem... It's okay. I think we all cried a bit that day."
But not me.
"And uh, my name isn't based of a color."
"Yet, I came concerning your services. I assume you are still employed at her side, right?"

"You said Silverwing didn't you? Last time I checked, silver was a color, silly."
She laughs
"Whelp, I guess you're not much of a hand shaker, huh?"
She returns her hands back to her and laughs it off
"But yeah, I wouldn't really say that I'm 'employed' to Delphine. I consider her like part of my family, so really it's nothing more than me wanting to keep her safe. Can't have her getting hurt or anything. As cool as it would be, it's not like she can just whack bad guys with her healing stick or anything like that, so I gotta do the whacking for her! ... er... the arrow shooting... and bow plucking... b-but that besides the point! I've done well keeping her safe thus far and continue to do so!"
She fumbled a bit over her words towards the end, but she reaffirmed the matter with confidence in her voice and her hand on her hips.

"I should thank you for your help protecting her nonetheless. However, that won't be neccesary anymore. You can focus your efforts elsewhere."
Rieze's tone didn't change, even though she knew she was issuing a partly pointless request if what Viana had said was true.
"I can protect her from now on. You don't have to."

"Nah, don't say such silly things! The whole reason I came here was to protect her, so I'll keep doing that as long as I live! It's the least she deserves. Besidessss, Rieze, with you and your awesome flying snake and me with my bow, we can protect her like double as much!"
She goofily correct Rieze. It's not that she didn't trust Rieze to protect her, but Viana just always felt safter being with her, for both of their sakes.

"I uh, think you are misunderstanding. I am simply providing you more free time, if you so wish. Neltharion and I are perfectly capable of making sure nobody can harm Delphine. It's simply.... unnecessary."
Rieze crossed her arms again, shaking her head slightly.
"Im not doubting your abilities. Not at all."

"No no no, see... I want to protect her. Even if we're not related, she's really the only family I know. So even if I didn't want to protect, and I'll assure you that I do, I would simply have to protect her. It's just what family does... I'm sure you would understand. Don't you have family you would want to protect?"
Her face still retained her confidence, but it had waned a bit in favor of... almost a pleading look. She was serious when she said she was going to protect Delphine, no matter what anyone said to her.

"I do have a family I want to protect. It is the person im asking you to leave now.... but fine. I won't budge you anyway, it seems. Delphine wouldn't like it anyway...."
But then.... How exactly can I make it up to her.... I suppose I will have to ask her sometime.
Rieze sighed deeply
"Your connection with her seems to run pretty deep. Im envious."

"Wh-whatttt?! D-Delphine is your family? I-I-I don't think I ever saw you with everyone else. Are you a cousin or something?"
She stammered out her words, shocked to say the least. But... if she was actually Delphine's family, she understood how she felt, so she didn't want to hurt her feelings or anything, especially from the last comment she said
"But, either way... I apologize if I've said anything out of line. She's family to both of us, so I really wouldn't mind if you want to protect her too. I understand how it must feel. I... I just couldn't let you steal my job like that, y'know? That'd... that'd just be silly..."
She was serious at first, but tried to lighten up towards the end. She nervously laughed.

"Silly? Maybe. I consider it devotion. How I am connected to her? Complicated. I'd rather not delve into it."
Rieze shakes her head and turns away.
"I owe her for not being there for her when she needed it. Simple as that."

"Oh! I see... that makes a bit more sense now. And don't worry about it, I won't make you go into details you wouldn't wish to say. And to tell you the truth, it'd probably confuse me more!"
She laughed her goofy laugh, some of her nervousness lightening
"What matters to me is that I have someone else helping me protect someone I care about... Oh! Oh! Andddd~..."
Dramatic pause with Viana having a face which she was failing to contain her excitement
"It looks like I have another family member to protect! What are the odds! This is great! Now I can repay my debt to your family twice as much! Hehe this will certainly help!"
Without thinking, her body embraced Rieze in a loving hug, unable to contain her joy.

"Wha-!"
Rieze got immensely startled by Viana's sudden move, taking a step back.
More siblings?
She coughed, before awkwardly speaking up again
"Uh... are you her sister, or something?"

Her cough realized that she was hugging her... Oops, she hadn't noticed. She release Rieze from her hug and clarified.
"Nope!"
She said with a silly smile.
"Err... well ... kinda... I was an orphaned and never knew my real parents. I was raised by some of the castle guard that served under Delphine. To make a long story short, I've been close to Delphine for almost all my life and she's the closest thing I have of a family. I'm sure you may imagine how scared I was when she suddenly disappeared on me... So I risked my life scouring the land to find her! It's that simple!"

"Heh.... We may not be so different after all."
She shrugged, coughing a bit once again before speaking up.
"Anyway... Consider it an offer then. Do what you want."

"Right, I look forward to it! And don't worry, I'll be sure to help you out too! I've got more than just Delphine to protect now, and that makes the situation all the more sweet"
She smiled gently before abrupting remembering something again.
"O-oh, yeah... um, here... I was saving this to eat on a special day, but I think it might sweeten up your day more than mine."
She giggled somewhat awkwardly and moved quickly moved toward Rieze, opening her hand and leaving behind her gift.
Before Rieze could look at it, Viana gave a smile and skipped away, blushing.
Rieze would find that Viana left her a special individually wrapped candy. Rieze may not know it, but Viana has a big sweet tooth, so this gesture means a lot coming from her. Especially towards someone she doesn't know as well as Delphine.(edited)
