[3:54 PM] Birb - Sky: ===RP Start!===
[4:06 PM] Birb - Sky: The enemy swung on the tree and Viana fell off as she wasn't expecting it.
"AHHHH!"

Viana scrambled to her feet and readied her shortbow to defend herself. She fired off a few arrows and managed to take down a few of the enemies that began to rush her. But the enemies were determined to spill the blood of the purple archer. She felt the adrenaline beginning to pump through her now, as she was injured, and she fired off more short-ranged volleys of arrows as she moved around quickly. This tactic had saved her hide a few times before in times like this... but this time was not one of them...
The fire dog and the other human enemies surrounded her and struck again, and this proved too much. They had done the unthinkable. They had overpowered her, after she had sworn to protect her allies.
! "... not again..." she thought as she began to bleed.
Her vision was going blurry and dark and she had no choice but to drop her bow and hurry to the top of the tree and pray that they leave her alone. She rushed to the top of the tree and clung on for dear life as blood escaped her body and her vision turned to black.
"...I'm...sorry..." she whispered to herself as tears soon replaced the adrenaline.

After the outside battle had calmed, the tree could still be seen with a familiar bow now stained with blood clearly noticeable by its tree trunk.(edited)
[4:28 PM] LadyDeme: They were haing a moment to recollect themselves as they began to take down the door -- something like that. The wave of riders was, for the moment, holding back -- they couldn't chase them into the castle, but they could pen in the army. And Delphine took the chance to run through the courtyard, freshly-broken-in tome in her (ha ha, ha) freshly-bloodied hands. She tried not to think about it anymore, focusing on a different pain: a worry.
She had only heard the shouting, and only seen the bow -- she hadn't seen Viana retreat, and she hadn't seen her dead, and between the two was a dagger in her. That the little shadow that had trailed her for over 15 years now might have faded, here, at the dawn. Delphine didn't want to think about it -- about how foolish she was to hope otherwise when she came by the tree again, searching through the grass.
"Viana? Please..." The countess's voice was a little hoarse. If it was foolish, let her be a fool. She had to know -- and, as her hands reached for a stave, in case, she had to hope. "Viana!"
[4:38 PM] Birb - Sky: Viana heard her voice... it was like a dream. The voice was strangely familiar yet distant. After a bit of time, she heard the voice again, closer this time. And...more familiar.
Delphi!... she thought as her eyes snapped open. She was still clinging to the tree. She was confused for a moment and a half, but then she noticed the blood on herself and the tree and remembered. She looked down and saw a worried Delphine. She opened her mouth to respond, but it proved difficult. A blood drop dripped from her face and towards the ground below.
"Del...phi..." she managed to get out with some difficulty
The tree ached and screeched as she moved. It sounded ready to crack soon, but Viana knew she wouldn't be able to get down herself without hurting herself.
[5:01 PM] LadyDeme: Delphine saw the blood droplet fall, just as the words did: sluggishly, carried only by gravity. But even that was enough -- even that pulled her over the knifeedge of terror, and into a precarious, if hopeful, landing.
"Viana! Hold on!" The height of the tree meant little to her -- not with how far she'd managed to come... She raised her healing staff, but was stopped by the noise of the tree. No, that first. Her hands had gotten quick at retrieving the staves strapped to her travel pack, and she'd brought just the one from their convoy: the rescue staff. She'd used it in a panic earlier, but now... Now she closed her eyes and felt the air around her part, her awareness following the spell as it pushed up, and cradled Viana down to besides Delphine without moving her through the space between.
[5:09 PM] Birb - Sky: Viana was too hurt to feel very much excitement of the magic being used on her...or at least not enough to act on the excitement.
Once she landed safely beside Delphi, she managed to let out the few words through a bloodied smile.
"...that was cool"
She didn't want to worry her with any other words, so attempted to be joking.
[5:18 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Meanwhile noticing Delphine not going into the castle Mateus ran after her.
"Delphine what are you doing? It's dangerous to be out here!" It wasn't until the Mateus saw a spell being cast that the man noticed what was going on.
"Huh? Viana!!!! What what happened?" Mateus ran towards the two clearly extremely worried for Viana's safety.
[5:27 PM] LadyDeme: "She didn't retreat, before... Hold on, Viana," Delphine ordered, crouching beside Viana; the wounds were severe, and it was impressive she'd stayed on the tree the whole time. She dropped the rescue staff to the side for the moment, and began healing her -- something this bad would take more than one spell to fully restored... But Delphine could imagine the two of them as they had been, Delphine showing off her new lessons on one of Viana's frequent scrapes, and the soothing image wrapped around Viana, bringing the color back to her cheeks; she'd feel much, much better. And less like dying.
"How's that? Mateus, could you help me get her back to the entrance?"
[5:35 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus nodded. He honestly wasn't used to seeing injuries so...severe. The sight of Viana drenched in blood truly horrified the man through and through.
"O-Of course. Anything to help out."
[5:39 PM] Birb - Sky: After being healed a little, Viana felt like she could speak a bit more. She still thought it wise not to move very much.
"Sorry...I thought staying in the tree would distract the enemies from the other allies... I promised to protect, so I tried my best..."
She spoke with a hoarseness in her voice.
[5:44 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "What? Why would you try and pull a stunt like that?!?An archer like yourself can't do anything if all the enemies pile up on you! That was extremely reckless of you Viana!"
[5:45 PM] Birb - Sky: "...Usually the cover of the trees are good enough... I'm sorry, I just wanted to help..."
[7:18 PM] LadyDeme: That was... So completely Viana. Delphine could only sigh and shake her head, with the fond frustration of someone dealing with a stubborn loved one. Which she was. She picked up and stowed her other staff.
"We were all much safer than you were; Next time, you have to let us protect you somewhat, too...But you did good to hide yourself, OK?"
Delphine swooped under one of Viana's arms, positioning up to support the wounded archer at the shoulders, and motioned with the hand not at Viana's back for Mateus to support her other side.
[7:33 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus nodded as he went under Viana's other arm to support her.
"Don't you remember what I said Viana? About how one person can't do everything and that we're at our strongest when we all work together? You should've worked alongside everyone instead of trying to do everything by yourself. By being rash and going off on your own not only do you hurt yourself but you also hurt those close to you."
[8:06 PM] Birb - Sky: Viana nodded regretfully
"Uh huh, I tried my best to hide...but I just wanted to help...I thought shooting arrows from the tree would keep my safe enough... I-I'm sorry... I'll make sure that someone else is closer by from now on, even if I'm in a tree or something... Archers aren't meant to do a lot of head to head combat, but I can't just sit back..."
She was silent in thought, but soon realized she hadn't even thanked anyone
"B-but I promise to be more careful... I don't wanna make anyone sad if something happens to me... and uh... thanks a bunch, you guys... it means a lot!"
She giggled gently and gritted her teeth as she winced at the small pain in her stomach from laughing.
[9:06 AM] LadyDeme: Delphine smiled just a little, her head turned to conceal it a little; asking Viana not to laugh would be a waste of time; like trying to stop the
"That's right; just try remembering this... You and I need to go home together; people are waiting for us, after all; I don't want to show up empty-handed, now, do I?"
She teased as she slowly walked them towards the castle. She felt like Viana had been guilted enough, at least for the moment, and so swallowed that lingering sense of fear.

[4:58 PM] Birb - Sky: "Sure...as you as you don't forget I have to bring you home too... it is the whole reason I came out in the first place..." She said, continuing the joking manner.
She laughed, despite the pain. After all, it was hard to train her body not to laugh
[5:13 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "And most importantly we want everyone to come back home without any injuries or anything like that as well. Or...." Mateus paused for a bit before lightening his tone. "Maybe one or two tiny scars just to prove to everyone that you're a veteran!"
[5:15 PM] Birb - Sky: "hehe like heroic battle scars!" Viana said with a giggle.
She tiredly flexed an arm in an attempt at a joke, but ended up reopenning a wound on her arm, as Delphine hadn't finished healing her completely
"...oops! ouchie!" she exclaimed with a scrunched face
[5:20 PM] LadyDeme: "Try not to move until you're patched up.... That said, I think I, for one, can go without any battle scars.... Assuming I can go without any battle scars," she admitted with a chuckle. They'd about reached the shadow of the castle entrance, where the rest of the group had been waiting. She looked up at Floribar's keep and sighed, wistfully.
"I'd definitely prefer to go home with scars than not at all... Just think, Vi. We've almost freed our homeland."(edited)
[5:24 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "Yep! When you get back everyone will hail all of you as heroes! Many generations will know of the valiant heroes Delphine the Light Maiden and Viana the Wild Flower!!!"
[5:29 PM] LadyDeme: "Oh, you shameless flatterer --" She pressed her loose hand to her chest and preened slightly, a smile on her face. She was only a maiden by some definitions, but why ruin the romanticism of the gesture? "History has eyes on Mateus, father of wyverns, as well. Of that, I will ensure."
[5:33 PM] Birb - Sky: "Well, the scars themselves aren't super great, it's the meaning behind them! They show the signs of a true warrior hero! Ohh, and that name sounds perfect! I really like the 'wild' part too! Sounds really cool if you ask me! And yeah, what Delphi said! You can be known as Mateus, Hero Daddy of Dragon Puppies! And you know it's extra heroic because of the long name!" She giggled again, which had begun to not hurt as hard as it was.
They could probably tell she was starting to feel better because she was talking like her normal self... a lot.
[5:43 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus also laughed.
"I think I like the title Hero Daddy of Dragon Puppies. Has a nice and unique ring to it! And I'm surprised you've gotten better so fast Viana. I've never seen anyone go from near death to sunshines and rainbows like you just did."
[5:52 PM] Birb - Sky: "Well I'm not the one with the magic healy stick, so don't ask me! It just .... happened like that!"(edited)
[5:53 PM] LadyDeme: Delphine burst out laughing at Viana's suggestion, a brightness to her smile that said there was no mockery to it -- but rather surprise. It never failed to astonish her.
"No, no, That's just Viana for you...Now that her body's feeling that healing, she's all pep... But You really do need another round or two before you can get back on your feet. Luckily, we can probably put you down and get you going again in just a moment."
[5:59 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "Yep. It'll be kind of like learning how to walk all over again!"
[6:00 PM] Birb - Sky: "yayyy!" Viana said excitedly at Delphine, before hearing Mateus.
"...but please don't let me fall, I think my face has had enough action with the ground for one day..."(edited)
[6:11 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "Hehe. Don't worry. If it looks like you're falling I'll be there to catch you before you do!"
[6:13 PM] Birb - Sky: "Sweet! Thanks!" she said with a smile
"I wonder how weird it would be to learn to walk again... I don't remember the last time I learned it!"
[6:25 PM] LadyDeme: This is oddly very cute, Delphine thought as she gently knelt down so her friend could get to the ground...safely. They were in the cluster of their own troops, just a little off to the side. Most of them were trying to gather things from Finn.
"You weren't very good at it, if I recall. But you were definitely eager... Well. Ready for round two?"
[6:28 PM] Birb - Sky: "uhhhhhhhh, sure, let's go! Ready as I'll ever be!"
She sounded a bit hesitant at first, but she soon hyped herself up.
[6:34 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "Of course I am! Hopefully we can get this done and over with quickly so I can be back with the little ones and so Floribar can be free once again!"
[7:13 PM] LadyDeme: "That's right, oh Hero Daddy of Dragon Puppies," Delphine said, still very amused at this little nickname. She could see the puppyishness of his wyverns, that was for sure. She took her healing rod and began running it, not quite toucing, across Viana's body. The staff glowed with magic power, and Viana's wounds healed more, taking the time until they were pretty much healed.
[7:15 PM] Birb - Sky: "Alrighty, let's see if that did the trick..."
As Viana was set to her knees, she attemted to take her first step but began to fall forwards already
NO! she screamed internally. Her face happened to have the look that showed this as well.
[7:18 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "Ah!!!!" Instinctively Mateus put his arms in front of Viana's falling form easily catching the girl in her arms.
"Gotta be a bit more careful there Viana. Do you need me to support you for a bit longer?"
[5:02 AM] Birb - Sky: Her first instinct told her "no", but something made her stray from instinct. Viana wasn't sure what that would be exactly, but she said what she thought felt right to say
"...yes, please" she said, blushing a bit, Mateus still holding her in his arms, protecting her from a date with the dirt below her(edited)
[9:07 AM] LadyDeme: "Oh boy," Delphine sighed, for a wide variety of developing reasons. One of which, she'd have to look into later, but it'd be better off to leave... The other, though... She stood back up, looking over Viana as she did.
"Anything that still hurts, or are you just having to work a little on your land legs?"
[10:19 AM] Birb - Sky: "I don't think anything hurts, just feels weird I guess... Funny what almost dying does to your legs... Now let's try again..."
She stood back up, with Mateus' help. She took her first and second steps successfully.
"Right foot... Left foot..." She mumbled to herself in the process
"Yeah, this is piece of cake!" She says confidently before she took her next step and her knee wobbled and she began to fall again.
"Eee!" She yipped as she expected to fall flat on her face
[10:37 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus caught her yet again laughing at Viana.
"Hahaha. You did a lot better this time at least. Do you just want me to carry you inside like I did when I you got hurt while you're training?"
[10:49 AM] Birb - Sky: she blushed and nervously giggled
"N-n-no! I-I got this..."
She took a deep breath and tried again
"...I was already clumsy enough as it was when I had normal legs, so I'm just trying my best!" She said with another giggle, this time less nervous sounding.
She managed to take more steps, even though her knees wobbled a bit, she managed to walk, even if she still needed done assistance.
She suddenly stops walking after realizing something
[12:11 PM] LadyDeme: Delphine offered Viana a supportive hand for this process, of getting her wobbly guard back up on her feet. This process was beginning to draw itself a little attention, though she suspected it was more relief at seeing Viana was not knocked out more permanently... Although Delphine waved over to the group to reassure them, she had to admit...
"You still have normal legs, Viana. I promise I didn't replace them... Hm. You know what you might need?"
Delphine paused when Viana did, glancing back at her.
"Is something wrong? Besides the blood-loss and weak knees, I mean."
[2:25 PM] Birb - Sky: She turned around, blushing again, now facing Mateus and Delphine
"I uh... almost went along without giving any thanks to either of you... So uh... thanks for helping me not die! And if you guys ever need help not dying either, I'll be there! It's the least I can do..." She said with a thumbs up gesture and a smile with red cheeks and wobbly knees(edited)
[10:08 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus laughs.
"I think I've gotten the hang of not dying these past few years! I can't afford to die for the little ones sake! But I appreciate the offer anyway Viana."
[10:15 AM] LadyDeme: "I'd rather hope not to die myself... But you're quite welcome! I am but a servant to my people." Her voice was light and just a little teasing... But there was a certain softness to her eyes as she curtseyed that argued something else. "That said, after the blood you lost, you might want a snack...If we had such a thing. You wouldn't happen to have somethimg, would you, Mateus?"
[10:35 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "Uuuuum. Do I?" Mateus fumbled around a bit before bringing out eight different small sacks each with the name of one his wyvern's on it.
"Uuuum. I have baby carrots, apple slices, pickle slices, boiled eggs, and pieces of fish. Which one do you want Viana?"
[11:22 AM] Birb - Sky: "Yeah, eating sounds pretty nice right about now... but...Hmmmmmm" Viana hummed as she thought and scratched her head
"...so you don't have anything sweeter? I uh...ate all my stockpile of sweet stuffs..."
She stared at the sky in contemplation, as if very deep in thought, like her next decision would be a matter of life or death. None of the items offered satiated her craving for the sweet embrace of sugar.
[11:24 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus shook his head.
"I don't carry sweets on me. The little ones get too hyper if they manage to eat something sweet. And beside all these foods are much healthier alternatives! They'll make you grow into a big and strong hero!"
[12:35 PM] LadyDeme: "Apples are pretty sweet, but let me see what I've got..." She began to rummage through her pack, going past the layers of easily accessable stuff until she came up with a small chocolate pastry of some description -- rather squished, but still wrapped in a thin layer of parchment paper, and servicable.
"Will this satisfy?"
[12:53 PM] Birb - Sky: It seemed as though Mateus knew the perfect words. And they would've persuaded her, if she hadn't had such a big and persuasive sweet tooth.
"It's tempting, Mat, but... everyone has their demons, and mine craves sweets"
She folded her arms, but had a defeated look on her face.
"yeah, apples aren't really sweet enough for me..."
She looked in the sky again, this time with the face that seemed to ask "what is the meaning of life...without candy?" But then Delphine said something and she glanced down to see the... tantilizing treat in her hands. Her ears seemed to perk and her eyes seemed to sparkle. Had she not had her mouth closed, she probably would've been drooling.
"Aaaaaaaaah YESSS! CHOCOLATE!!" she said with excitement
She reached her hands towards the devilish treat, but then stopped, fingers inches away from the pastry, and turned to look Delphine in the eyes.
"...this uh... is for me, right?"
[7:01 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus nodded.
"I'm pretty sure it's for you Viana. I'm not the one in need of a sugar filled energy boost."
[7:20 AM] Birb - Sky: "hehe, that's right! Just wanted to make sure!" She said excitedly
She grabbed the pastry and immediately sunk her teeth into it, and as the chocolate goodness hit her tongue, she was in heaven.
"Mmmmmmmmmm, yummy yummy!"
She gobbled the rest, relishing the yumminess. She made sure to lick her fingers clean.
"Thanks a bunch, that's exactly what I needed! I feel greatttttt~!" She said joyfully, ending with a singsong tune.
[7:28 AM] LadyDeme: "It's a leftover from tossing sweets into a vat for staves," Delphine explained, wondering how on earth this had all come to pass. This was her life now. How odd. She watched Viana gulp it down with a tender smile, knowing that, frankly, Viana's relish at once made her a little hungry, and also certain that whatever she had would not be as satisfying as watching the absolute thoroughness with which Viana had enjoyed every last crumb.
"Then let's not dally about nearly dying any longer...The castle isn't ours until we sieze its keep, after all."
[7:34 AM] Birb - Sky: "Uh huh, yeah. Now that I'm not dead, I can kick butt again!" She said excitedly with a proud giggle
She struck a pose of pride, but it soon went away after she realized something important. She began patting down her body and seemed alarmed.
"Ah! Where's my trusty Shortbow?!?! That's like my best bow!!!"
[10:43 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "Uuuuuuh do you mean this bow?" Mateus pulled the smallish bow which was safely tucked under his arm.
"I wasn't sure if it was your bow or one of the enemies but I decided to just pick it up anyway."
[5:20 PM] Birb - Sky: "Omigosh! That's it!"
Viana gently took the bow and craddled it in her arms.
"Last I remembered, I had used it against those enemies while I was in that tree... I must've dropped it when I ran up the tree! Hehehehe Thanks, Matty, like a bunch!" She exclaimed as she did a group hug with her bow and Mateus.
[6:13 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus was slightly surprised by the hug but quickly returned it.
"No problem Viana! Always happy to help!"
[8:32 AM] Birb - Sky: "hehe don't think you don't get hugs too!" She said as she now embraced Delphine
"Well, now that that's taken care of, we should probably get ready for the fight ahead of us. If we watch each other's backs in there, I think we can win! C'mon, let's sure we aren't forgetting anything before we head inside. Can anyone think of anything like that?"
[12:59 PM] LadyDeme: Delphine took her hug with a laugh, giving Viana a tight squeeze in return.
"I can get what I need from Finn before we head after them, but yeah, I think I'm good besides that."
[1:30 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus shook his head.
"Nope I've got everything I need!"
[5:19 PM] Birb - Sky: "hehe sweet! Let's kick some booty then! With all of watching each other's backs, no one can stop us! Hero time, here I come!"
And with that, Viana ran off, towards indoors. It's almost as though the mix of chocolate and excitement had cured her legs, allowing her to walk like she had before.(edited)
[5:28 PM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: Mateus just chuckled while he turned to Delphine.
"Well she's really just a little bundle of energy huh?"
[6:15 AM] LadyDeme: "She really is," Delphine said with a clear smile and a fond shake of her head. It was really a treasure, Viana being around. "Honestly, the surprising part is that she managed to hold onto a tree branch while bleeding out -- I wonder if she actually gets more coordinated when her life is on the line or the like."
[7:16 AM] Abyssal John John 🔥💪: "That wouldn't be surprising. I think anyone would become more focused when it comes to a life or death situation. Or maybe you just give Viana too little credit. She seemed extremely focused when I caught her training and she does so in order to be useful to you and everyone else." Mateus shrugged.
"I guess you would know better then I did Delphine. Here's hoping for a swift victory for the freedom of Floribar!" With a salute to Delphine as he ran off towards the castle.
[5:26 PM] LadyDeme: "Well, she's always been a beautiful shot, and the most loyal and cheerful person you could ask for... I just mean that, the rest of the time, she rather forgets where her limbs are," Delphine explained before he ran ahead. "Or perhaps, where the rest of the world is. Either way, that clumsiness is a rather charming part of her...And I'm glad it didn't kick in that time."
"Yes -- to freedom at last!" She waved a hand and sent him off, before turning toward Finn, to redirect her supplied in earnest.
