It was just past sunset as Ludger was sitting on the outskirts of the shore at by the lake. The night sky was primarily the sky that was out, which meant there wasn't much light out, except for the lantern Ludger had with him, which flickered whenever the wick hit the candle. Letting out a sigh, he looked up at the sky. This felt nice: Being able to relax and not think about things. He soon went back to watching the water, eventually skipping stones on the water surface, getting about half to skip on the water surface.

A bit down the shore, on a small dock, he'd see another light appear. The stark yet subtle white light of a staff was easily recognized by anyone familiar with magic.
As the light settled, a tall form could be made out looking out over the lake, but not much detail beyond that.
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 10:52 PM
Ludger soon was able to see the light from the reflection of the water surface. Looking up, he saw that it was light from a staff. He wondered what that was doing here, but he figured that it was someone practicing magic. Taking a rock, he managed to skip it far enough so the person on the dock could see the rock skipping with the ripples in the water.

The figure did indeed take note. They appeared to turn towards him an nod before looking back over the lake.
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 10:59 PM
Ludger did see the other respond. It didn't seem to get their attention a whole lot. Deciding to see what it was, he got up and walked over to the dock, lantern in hand.

As he approached the details filled in and he'd recognize the staff wielder as Alexandra. She maintained her gaze over the lake. Her staff hand was set behind her back, just above where her regular staves were fastened at the base of her spine, while her other hand was hooked around the first's wrist.
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 11:07 PM
Ludger did notice that it was Alexandra. He didn't know what she was doing with her staff or how doing what she did would help her. However, he soon looked behind his back to see his one staff on his back, thinking back to how he first learned how to use one.

Alexandra released a breath and rolled her shoulders, causing her breastplate to quietly clatter. She looked over her shoulder to Ludger, then again returned her sight to the lake.
The Lake's shore has been much busier than I'd expected it to be.
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 11:13 PM
Ludger did notice that she looked at him. For just a moment, he wondered if she wanted to be alone, but it was only for a moment. In no time, he spoke up. "Hello?" He said.
Appa | Very Lewd-Last Thursday at 11:16 PM
"Good evening, black mage," She replied, closing her eyes but not turning to him this time.
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 11:20 PM
Ludger frowned. "You know, saying that is just generalizing the whole thing. Not all mages who use dark magic are evil, me being one of them." He said.
Appa | Very Lewd-Last Thursday at 11:25 PM
"Perhaps," Alexandra's tone remained flat and impartial, "But you mistake my meaning. I wasn't assuming you're evil. That is not why I dislike black mages. Their spells are impure and blasphemous."
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 11:27 PM
"That is a fair point, but it also depends on how they're used, and who is using them." Ludger said.
Appa | Very Lewd-Last Thursday at 11:40 PM
"It does not," She insisted, "Black magic is inherently evil. People only generalize Black mages as evil by extension. Black magic is what they truly hate. Thunder mages are not generalized as evil, because the magic they wield is not evil."
She finally turns to him. Her expression is neutral, but her eyes are intense, "No other magic consists of bombarding targets with distilled darkness, or draining life forces, or amplifying existing wounds."
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 11:42 PM
Ludger simply shook his head. "See? There's the generalization again. Dark magic, as far as I know, cannot drain life forces. Light magic, which is meant to be holy and good, does drain life forces. That makes that part of Light magic evil, and even thunder magic kills, which makes all magic types evil based on that alone." He said.
Appa | Very Lewd-Last Thursday at 11:47 PM
"It is the method, not the result. Light and Anima to not pervert the world to slay their targets," Alexandra maintained, "They don't gather hate and pain and channel it into spells."
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 11:49 PM
"And who says I do that for my magic? From what I've seen, you haven't seen me use my magic, so how can you say that's true when you haven't seen me use the "evil" magic? You sound like someone I used to know who used and possibly uses Light magic to "purge" evil by killing endless amounts of people." He said.
Appa | Very Lewd-Last Thursday at 11:56 PM
"I don't need to see you use it. I've seen others use it. It's unnatural, immoral and blasphemous," Alexandra took a breath, "Anything can be corrupted. If a hero falls and becomes a villain, well they can hardly be called a hero anymore."
NightSoldier-Last Thursday at 11:58 PM
Ludger, once again shook his head. "You don't seem to be getting it. Any type of magic or weapon can be seen as much, so soloing out only one thing as such isn't doing to be doing you any good." He said.

"The difference between black magic and light magic, or any other weapon, used for massacre is that the light didn't begin evil. It was corrupted by its caster. Its original purpose was to defend and protect. Dark however, simply begins as such. Black spells crave death and destruction."
NightSoldier-Yesterday at 12:03 AM
Ludger sighed. "I'm not going to waste my time talking to someone that sees what I use to defend others and my staff to keep people alive as nothing but evil." He said, turning around to try to leave.
Appa | Very Lewd-Yesterday at 12:05 AM
"When your black magic inevitability corrupts and twists you, I will pray for you," Alexandra promised before turning back to the lake.
NightSoldier-Yesterday at 12:10 AM
"Well, that'll never happen because I know how to handle it properly." Ludger said back as he left the docks.
Appa | Very Lewd-Yesterday at 12:11 AM
"That's what they all say," Alexandra shakes her head and sighs, speaking quietly.
