Fostisia's beautiful beaches attract a multitude of tourists, and the edge of the sands is a prime location for merchants to set up shop. Albion sits at one of the stalls in a long line- without the bulk of his merchandise, the only real attraction he has to offer is his crystal ball, sitting front and center. For the most part, the seeming parlor trick attracts little attention.
Highly proficient in the art of the power nap, the fortune teller is slumped over in his seat, peacefully bathing in the sun. The man isn't so deep a sleeper that he wouldn't wake at the footsteps of a passerby.(edited)

Mateus once again finds himself back on a beach after he was convinced by a "majority" party that they should go again. Mateus did admire the beauty of Fostisia's beaches the first time but the second time wasn't as interesting. He was glad the wyverns were having another fun day on the beach but Mateus himself just sat in the sand as Zodiark curled up in his lap.
One of Mateus's Wyverns Shemhazia had taken a keen interest in Ablion's stall. The Blue Wyvern shrieked at the stall perhaps in hopes of getting a response.

Albion opens one eye with a squint. "...hm?"
He leans forward, taking note of the small wyvern- blue scales glinting in the sunlight. Warily, he puts a hand on the amethyst orb, sliding it back on the table. "No window shoppers, little guy."(edited)

Shemhazia sees the man and happily greets him with a shriek. Mateus looked to see what Shemhazia was going on about and saw her in front of the stall. He sighed as he let Zodiark leap out his lap and curl up in the sand before Mateus walked over to Ablion. Shemhazia upon seeing Mateus let out another happy shriek.
"What are you doing here little miss? Are you bothering this man?" Mateus picked up Shemhazia who continued looking at Ablion.
"I'm sorry if she's bothering you but Shemhazia is always the curious one. She just wanted to know what you were doing out here."

Albion's mouth curls into a smirk.
"She has good taste! I offer fortunes, for a small fee- but it seems no one else has an appreciation for a mystic arts. Arcians would rather look at... tourist attractions." The last two words are uttered disdainfully.
He tentatively extends a hand to pet the wyvern. "Rare to see such a young one, so far from Ethysia- she must fetch quite the pretty price."(edited)

Shemhazia happily leans over towards Ablion's hand eager to be pet.
"Oh you're a fortune teller! I've always liked seeing what they told you and seeing if it actually came true." When Ablion mentioned Shemhazia fetching a price Mateus shook his head.
"Most likely but I'm not going to sell any of my Wyverns. They're basically my family so we're going to stick together." From the corner of his ear he could hear the others shrieking in delight as they played around on the beach.

He raises an eyebrow. "...Holding onto them until prices rise, hm? Very clever."
Albion peers at the group of wyverns, fluttering about in the sand. "At any rate- I appreciate your open mind! If you'd like to give it a try, it's only..." He mulls over his next few words for a moment. "...two hundred gold pieces. For such a friendly stranger."(edited)

Mateus nodded as he let go of Shemhazia who ran off to join the others. Fumbling around in his satchel he eventually pulled out the two hundred gold Ablion asked for excited to see if the fortune came true.

Albion grins greedily. "Excellent."
With a cough, he returns to his regular speech. "Now- sit, upon the seat right there. Place one hand upon the orb, and close your eyes... clear your mind of needless thoughts, needless concerns, and focus inward. Find your inner truth..."

Mateus sat down as he closed his eyes.
I wonder if this Fortune Teller is going to tell me I'll die by tripping down the stairs like the last one!
chukl-01/03/2017
Closing his eyes, Albion's eyebrows squint shut, as if focusing with all his might.
"...I can see, that you are a good man, Mateus. Yet, a simple man... the right path has long been clear to you, and you have followed it without regret. No longer, as you move ahead- the road branches into infinity. The ground underneath you is unsteady, no matter what choice is taken- and each and every one will test you. We shall see, if you retain what you are..."
He breathes deeply, as if in deep consternation.
"You come from humble beginnings- but your name is written in the history of coming decades, a symbol that echoes as something greater. Something more. Your choices will lead you to wealth, power, glory, fame- but there is always a price, and the grand cosmic collector shall forever have his due. Whether you sacrifice another, in that pursuit, or lose yourself- it is not yet set in stone."
His left eye opens a hair, gauging the man's reaction thus far.(edited)

Mateus listened to the man's words and didn't really know what to make of them. The words were quite eloquent in how they were put and it was an interesting listen. What bothered him was this price that Ablion had mentioned. What could he mean by that. Maybe it didn't mean anything but his thoughts went back to when he stole Zodiark from that family.
Was he going to have to eventually pay for that? For wanting to Zodiark to escape from his abusive household. Mateus shook his head.
Whatever. It was the right choice to make at the time and Zodiark wants to be with us. I'll just deal with that price if it ever does show itself. I just hope it doesn't hurt one of the little ones. Mateus looked to his Wyverns who were all content without a care in the world. Well...except Famfrit and Syldra who were fighting each other yet again.
"Eden! Can you go and stop Famfrit and Syldra please!" The Leader shrieked in response before heading over to the brawling Wyverns. Mateus sighed before turning his attention back to Ablion.
"Thank you for that fortune. It was a lot more....interesting then the others I've had that's for sure."(edited)

Albion recoils with a shock, as if struck by a jolt of lightning. When he locks eyes with the stranger, his voice turns grave.
"B-but... I was not finished!"
As the stranger turns his head to the young wyverns, Albion grasps him by the shoulders sternly.
"You fool! Have you any idea what you've done?"(edited)
Abyssal John John-01/03/2017
"Uuuuuuuh. No."
chukl-01/03/2017
After a moment, Albion relaxes, dropping his arms.
"My apologies... I suppose I'm to blame as much as you, for my poor warning. But I must caution you- when we peer into the future, we must do so with a careful step. If not... well, it may have repercussions we cannot anticipate. It's why I always follow a strict procedure."
He scratches the back of his neck.
"I imagine they demand a lot of attention."(edited)
Abyssal John John-01/03/2017
"Ooooooh. I guess there's more then or is there like a certain thing we need to do in order to end the session?" Mateus readjusted himself in the seat obviously confused.
Usually by this point they would be telling me to go so they can see the next patron....
chukl-01/03/2017
"No- it's a moot point now, we'll simply have to wait and see. Besides- I wouldn't want you to be distracted again." Albion gestures at the wyverns nearby- still fighting amongst themslves, in spite of Eden's best efforts.
"What will you do when they're too large to handle?"(edited)
Abyssal John John-01/03/2017
"Oh. I doubt that will be a problem. When they get bigger I'm going to try and find them all jobs. It shouldn't be too hard but I'll think more on that when the time comes and I think they're ready to talk about it." Mateus looked to the Wyverns again and saw that Eden with Bleu's help had succeeded in stopping the bickering of Famfrit and Syldra.
"Thank you! I know I can always count on you guys!" Eden shrieked happily as the Wyvern's quickly got out of the huddle and went about their own business again.
"Despite their quirks they're all good little seeds. I couldn't think of any one of them being separated from me or the others."
chukl-01/03/2017
Talk about it? Albion had always found it odd, when people conversed with animals- maybe there was something to it he didn't fully understand.
"Well, um... I should hope that talk goes well. If fortune is on our side, the war will be over by the time that happens."
The fortune teller extends his hand to the stranger.
"Ahem! A pleasure doing business with you, Mateus. Should you need another glimpse into the future, you know where to find me."(edited)
Abyssal John John-01/03/2017
Mateus nodded.
"Alright then! Thanks for the fortune! I'll keep it to heart! Eden! Call everyone up we're leaving!" The Wyvern nodded as it let out a shriek as all the Wyverns converged to where Mateus was standing.
"Goodbye Fortune-Teller! May our paths cross again one day!" And with that Mateus marched away from the beach with his Wyverns following him in a straight line.
chukl-01/03/2017
"It's Albion! And farewell, my friend!"
Albion cheerfully waves off the stranger, his face twisting into a smirk as the stranger walks into the distance.
Two hundred! And here I thought I would have to haggle...
---rp end---(edited)
