Terra the Explora

Pink Guy-Last Thursday at 9:25 PM

A woman with strawberry blonde hair stood on a patch of grass. Terra made her way to go outside today to take in the fresh air. The blue canvas was as endless as ever, painted by the white clouds. She took off her rather large backpack and sat, staring at the endless sky stretch into the horizon.(edited)

Nearing midday, the Arcian skies shine blue and bright above the plains. Albion strolls about the grasslands bordering the village- from some distance away, the area is quiet save for the wind whipping against the grass and the chirping of a few birds. After the battle, it was earlier than Delphine or Lady Alexandra would want him on his feet- but sitting in that cramped infirmary didn't suit him. His pace gradually slows to a halt, as the nearby stream starts to come into view- and a strange figure, along with it. Well-built and well-armed, she scarcely seemed like one of the villagers- and he hadn't seen her during the siege. Making a mental note to keep his tome at the ready, Albion walks up with a grin plastered across his face. "Well met, stranger! You wouldn't be one of the locals, now, would you?"

Pink Guy-Last Thursday at 10:32 PM

Terra looked at the shaman, confused at the shaman's words. She stood up and lifted away her hair from her face with her red glove. "You must be mistaken, I'm no local of the village." She knew in an instant that this is a magician or specifically, a shaman. Terra heard of the stories of several shaman who have dedicated their lives to the art. They are practicers of the art of the supernatural after all. The curious woman wanted to ask several questions, but she bit her lip at the possibility. "Now tell me, what is your name?"(edited)

chuklfug-Last Thursday at 10:45 PM

Albion chuckles- taking a hesistant step forwards, he extends a hand in greeting. "Albion- a pleasure. But if you're not from Arcias- and not one of us- then where might you be from?" The hand remains extended. "A traveler, perhaps? These are dangerous times..."(edited)

Pink Guy-Last Thursday at 10:55 PM

"My name is Terra, I'm a traveler exploring the world with my trusty axe and ink-pen!" The axe fighter smiled, she shook Albion's hand with delight. "Yes... These are dangerous times due to what's happening, but I've proven that I can handle the usual gang of thieves myself." Terra raised her right hand, she pulled back the long sleeve of her dress to reveal a red glove made for combat.

chuklfug-Last Thursday at 11:06 PM

He eagerly returns the shake, taking a more confident step back. "I'm quite certain- but in times like these, none of us are truly safe on our own, are we?" Albion takes a moment to look over the stranger- somewhat shoddy, and chances were she didn't have much coin on her. A shame. Albion puts his hand in his pocket, holding his hand over the crystal ball to keep it squarely out of sight. "Myself, I travel with a band of mercenaries- a tad dangerous, but you can handle yourself, no? Why not come along with us? The pay is steady, and we tend to travel- you'd be able to see the world, without looking over your shoulder when you sleep."

Pink Guy-Last Thursday at 11:19 PM

"Hm.... Sure. I do like some company during my travels. The world is pretty but not pretty enough to be contempt without a social life." Terra giggled at her weird humor, she never had a companion for a long time ever since she left home. She struggled with the absence of any living human, traveling in solitude and isolated from the very place she loved. "What kind of mercenaries are they?"

chuklfug-Last Thursday at 11:30 PM

"Why, mercenaries in the employ of..." Albion mulls over his words. Mercenaries in employ of the prince, himself? Quite a heroic selling point- but given rumors about the rebels, and the state of their forces, it might scare her off as soon as she caught a whiff of trouble. He settles for a partially honest answer. "...a few Floribian nobles. We serve as their escort, as they head about the countryside on... some business or another. It's quiet for the most part, but we run into trouble every now and then." No one can be seen for a good quarter mile away, but Albion leans in nonetheless, speaking in a hushed and conspiratorial tone. "Some of us didn't expect to see action at all, you see- a few short skirmishes, and they tucked tail and ran! Cowards, if you ask me."(edited)

Pink Guy-Last Thursday at 11:46 PM

"Really? So you guys are the sellswords that everyone's been talking about when I traveled around here..." Terra mulled over at the memory back at the tavern, she listened to a conversation related to a Floribian Noble. She had thought the Floribian aristocrats had been slain or even captured by that empire before. "It surprises me that there are still remaining blue blood that hasn't been spilled yet from that country. It's a shame to have this marvelous world drenched red with blood." Several birds flown by them, high above the ground. The soft wind blown Terra's hair slightly, her brown dress flown with the breeze. Her face was grim.(edited)

Albion puts both hands in his pockets for a moment, shifting uncomfortably on his toes. "Rather... unfortunate, yes. But one way or another, death comes for us all, does it not?" He lifts his head up with a grin, hoping to return some levity to the conversation. "Better not to dwell on the inevitable, no? Besides..." From the bulging pocket of his coat, Albion pulls out a strange gemstone- a crystal ball. The amethyst sparkles in the bright sunlight, as he holds it out- a remarkable sight, and convincing enough, he hoped, for the odd stranger. "Trust me- I know for certain, good fortune lies ahead of our little band. You'd do well to come with us, while the offer still stands."(edited)

Pink Guy-Yesterday at 12:38 AM

Terra's face softened, she felt relaxed at the reassurance of the shaman. Her clenched hand reverted back to it's normal state. "Fate is quite fickle isn't it? Nonetheless, we must push forward. I'll agree to your offer." She crouched down to pull up her bag, a small smile crept up to her face.

chuklfug-Yesterday at 12:42 AM

He tilts his head- had the spectacle worked, or was she merely an optimist? He'd have to ask her again later. As she gathers her things, Albion stashes the crystal ball in his pocket once more. "...Splendid- I'll take you to them, then. Follow me..." Albion turns away from the stream, making his way back to the village with the new arrival in tow.(edited)

Pink Guy-Yesterday at 12:46 AM

"But first..." Terra grabbed Albion's wrist and she turned to the other direction. "We must see the wonders of the world!" She pulled the shaman like it was nothing and hiked that way.

chuklfug-Yesterday at 12:48 AM

"Oh! Um... certainly?" Albion has just enough time to turn abruptly on his feet before the odd woman grabs him by the arm, dragging him off towards the wilderness nearby.(edited)

Path to Recovery

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

It was the day right after the battle that occured away from the rest of the army almost at the dead of last night. Valerie sat underneath a tree with bandages across her entire torso, feeling at least fine enough to get up and move, though not much else. Rested in the palm of an open hand rested a ring; a ring she got last night. Her mind kept going back to that battle. She was so cocky she would win while they were working to save the queen, but alas, it wasn't the case. All it took was one, deep slash from the Wyvern Rider's axe to take her down. Kristyn's words echoed in Valerie's head. Nothing specific; the entire thing, but what hurt Valerie the most was the whole friend thing. She was confused about how to feel about that. She thought that Kristyn was done with her, but it's clear that wasn't the case. Valerie had grown used to the idea of them being apart, but the compassion about it Kristyn spoke with... it was making Valerie question if she made the right decision a little. At the end of the day, she knew she was, but she hadn't considered how others back home would feel. Regardless, Valerie sat underneath the tree, legs close to her torso, the open palm not far from them. With a tight grip, Valerie closed her eyes and looked down; both from the physical pain and emotional turmoil.

Churchill woke up that day to pain, searing, sharp, overwhelming pain. The last thing that he clearly remembered was him nearly being cleaved in two by a Wyvern Knight during the battle the day before. After that, he had faded in and out of consciousness as he was treated, restored back to health. When he woke up that morning, all the proof he had of his ordeal was the bandages and the pain. Churchill wasn't however, going to just sit there. Later in the day, Churchill managed to convince the doctor in charge that he was able to walk and that the air would do him good. With a cane on hand to keep him upright, Church walked the campgrounds, eventually coming across a tree with a familiar face sitting underneath it. "Oh, hello there...what was your name again?"

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

Valerie heard someone coming, but didn't bother looking up right away. Even after they addressed her, she kept her head down low for a good moment longer before unclenching the ring and responding with "What's it to you?" She was still looking down; it was clear she wasn't in a terribly good mood to be talking about things like names of all things. After a moment, she realized her mistake and looked up with one eye, hair drooping down over her face with the bandana noticably gone. "Sorry..." She said as an apology, then taking a sigh and following up with "It's been a long week."

Persoon56-11/15/2016

"Well, to answer your question, it means quite a bit. If I may ask, what's been going on?" Seeing the lady's state, he couldn't help but wonder what brought her so low. Damn, my legs are getting weak, guess I've been out too long Churchill leans more on his cane.

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

Valerie looked back down for a moment. She wasn't sure she was even ready to talk about it. Well, maybe not to Churchill per-say, but that was only because she didn't know him well, not that she never would. She had noticed he got banged up, but didn't ask him about it because he asked about her condition first. "Got into a fight last night... and lost." She quietly muttered, gripping the ring once more.

Persoon56-11/15/2016

Noticing the grip, Churchill says nothing, respecting her secret. Deciding to sit before he collapses, he settles into the ground. "Now that, I understand. Got on the receiving end of an axe specifically designed to end me." Looking the woman over, he does see her banged up person. "Who'd you fight? A giant?"

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

"Same situation as you." Valerie quietly muttered, moving the ring to her other palm. "Sorry if i'm stiff, but i'm not in the best of moods for many reason." She added on, looking up at Churchill finally. It was clear she was suffering from a lack of sleep, not to mention some slightly red eyes.

Persoon56-11/15/2016

"I get it, though I don't pretend to understand. Seems like this beating you've taken was...personal, I guess. Though I get why you wouldn't want to tell me." Churchill starts to cough at this comment, his wound seemingly acting up

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

Valerie watched as Churchill coughed. "Don't you think you should rest?" She tiredly said to the other man, showing however much concern she could past her fatigued expression. She was probably being hypocritical there, but she knew Kristyn wasn't aiming to kill per-say with their duel, which was odd.

Persoon56-11/15/2016

"Rest? I can't stand lying around, sent most of the morning doing so.Thought some fresh air would do me good. Could say the same to you, though, you look like you've barely rested." Churchill chuckles at the irony of the situation and how hollow it sounds to him

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

Valerie just looked at Churchill unamused and said "That's what every woman wants to hear." though it was clear she didn't take it too seriously. "Anyways, I know, but... I just can't right now. I'm confused and need to sort it out before I can."

Persoon56-11/15/2016

"I can tell, though it would seem that you aren't doing yourself too much god, physically OR mentally." Churchill's head drops and soon raises to show a spent face, one that stays. "Sorry for my rudeness but I don't think you can sort anything out if you're sleep-deprived, I've found."

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

Valerie looked away and sighed. "I know, but it's also keeping me awake. I figure i'll let my body force me to sleep so that way i'm forced to." as she let out a huge yawn when she was done saying that.

Persoon56-11/15/2016

"Heheh. Seems like your body is going to make the decision for you. Then again, what do I know?" As he spoke, he scratched at the back at his head.

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

Valerie slowly stood up, gripping arpund her chest with her open hand as she did so. "I think it wants it now. Sorry if this wasn't very long at all..." She said, looking down and a little guilty.

Persoon56-11/15/2016

"Oh it's no real problem, though it seems the more we interact, the more of a mystery you become. Maybe we should chat sometime, actually sit down and get to know each other. It would definitely be nice to know someone in this outfit" The last sentence comes out of his mouth with some tinges of regret

NethaEmerald-11/15/2016

Valerie looked down to Churchill past her drooping hair with a soft smile and said "Maybe, but not now." She said as she slowly started to walk away, though after the first step, said "Let me know if you need anything."

Persoon56-11/15/2016

"Thanks, I'll keep that offer in mind. And, if you need someone to talk to, I hope you have someone to turn to, maybe it'll be better than suffering alone" Churchill stands with some difficulty, leaning on his cane, going off to the medical tent
